Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Listening to the Band by William Brooker was sold in the 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,120.00 (€ 4,630.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Brooker have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work White Still Life in June 2018 with an auction result of GBP 33,750.00 (€ 38,143.25).

Die Arbeit Listening to the Band von William Brooker wurde im Dezember 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.120,00 (€ 4.630,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
