Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At The Restaurant by William Bowyer was sold in the TWENTIETH CENTURY BRITISH ART auction at Christies in London in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 617.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Bowyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walpole House in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 4,062.00 (€ 4,509.27).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 617,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Bowyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walpole House im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.062,00 (€ 4.509,27).
