Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art, which included the work Statuary – Chiswick House by William Bowyer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,046.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Bowyer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Walpole House in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 4,062.00 (€ 4,509.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Statuary – Chiswick House von William Bowyer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.046,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Bowyer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Walpole House im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.062,00 (€ 4.509,27).
