Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work A Moorland Tarn, Glenfeshie, Invernesshire by William Beattie Brown for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,036.88). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Beattie Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cattle watering in a highland landscape, which sold at auction in February 2000 for GBP 1,840.00 (€ 3,011.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Moorland Tarn, Glenfeshie, Invernesshire von William Beattie Brown für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.036,88) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Beattie Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cattle watering in a highland landscape beobachtet, die im Februar 2000 für GBP 1.840,00 (€ 3.011,01) versteigert wurde.
