Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ben Ann And The Trosachs, Scotland by William Beattie Brown was sold in the British and Victorian Paintings auction at Christies in London in September 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,031.50 (€ 2,959.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Beattie Brown have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in February 2000 the work Cattle watering in a highland landscape was auctioned for GBP 1,840.00 (€ 3,011.01).
