Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Pictures, which included the work Feluccas on the Nile at dusk by William Ashton. It changed hands for a price of GBP 573.60 (€ 860.61) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00. Other works by William Ashton have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2004 the work The Elders was auctioned for GBP 836.50 (€ 1,218.67).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Feluccas on the Nile at dusk von William Ashton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 573,60 (€ 860,61) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Andere Arbeiten von William Ashton konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im September 2004 die Arbeit The Elders für GBP 836,50 (€ 1.218,67) versteigert.
