Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Dutch Canal Side by William Alfred Gibson was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. The price achieved of GBP 3,240.00 (€ 4,811.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Alfred Gibson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Sands of Morar, which sold at auction in March 2002 for GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,524.89).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.240,00 (€ 4.811,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Alfred Gibson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Sands of Morar beobachtet, die im März 2002 für GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.524,89) versteigert wurde.
