Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2015 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters & 19th CenturyArt - (including Dutch Impressionism), which included the work Pot Met Roode Azalia'S: Red Azalea In A Pot by Willem Witsen. The price achieved of EUR 5,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Witsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carriages at the Victoria Embankment, London in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 68,500.00.
