Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Willem Witsen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work Binnenkant met afbraak sold for EUR 1,680.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Witsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Carriages at the Victoria Embankment, London in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 68,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem Witsen erzielte im Januar 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS wurde die Arbeit Binnenkant met afbraak für EUR 1.680,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Witsen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Carriages at the Victoria Embankment, London im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 68.500,00.
