In January 2006 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Earthenware on a table by Willem Witjens. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,800.00 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Willem Witjens; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Castle Zuylestein, Leersum sold at auction in February 2008 with the realized price of EUR 3,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2006 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Earthenware on a table von Willem Witjens zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.800,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Willem Witjens; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Castle Zuylestein, Leersum im Februar 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 3.000,00.
