Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Boats on the river Odet, Bretagne by Willem Witjens was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2009. The price achieved of EUR 1,250.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem Witjens - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Castle Zuylestein, Leersum, which sold at auction in February 2008 for EUR 3,000.00.

Die Arbeit Boats on the river Odet, Bretagne von Willem Witjens kam im September 2009 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.250,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Willem Witjens mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Castle Zuylestein, Leersum beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für EUR 3.000,00 versteigert wurde.
