Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART, which included the work Studie van danseres - Study of a dancer by Willem van Leusden. The price achieved of EUR 2,160.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Willem van Leusden - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Homme machine, which sold at auction in November 2000 for NLG 12,872.20 (€ 6,030.42).
