Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS, which included the work David before Saul by Willem van Herp. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 9,400.00 (€ 14,429.47), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Willem van Herp have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tavern With Merrymakers And Cardplayers in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 88,182.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit David before Saul von Willem van Herp zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 9.400,00 (€ 14.429,47) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem van Herp auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tavern With Merrymakers And Cardplayers im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 68.500,00 (€ 88.182,22).
