Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A River Landscape With Figures In A Rowing Boat by Willem van Diest was sold in the Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54). Admittedly, works by Willem van Diest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Smalschepen offshore as a storm approaches in November 2001 with an auction result of EUR 49,350.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A River Landscape With Figures In A Rowing Boat von Willem van Diest wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.668,54) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem van Diest auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Smalschepen offshore as a storm approaches im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 49.350,00.
