Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Naval Battle Between English And Dutch Ships In A Rough Sea by Willem van Diest was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in September 2020. It achieved a price of GBP 4,788.00 (€ 5,279.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Willem van Diest have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Smalschepen offshore as a storm approaches in November 2001 with an auction result of EUR 49,350.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Naval Battle Between English And Dutch Ships In A Rough Sea von Willem van Diest wurde im September 2020 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 4.788,00 (€ 5.279,55) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%.
