Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Merry drinker with a large jug and a glass of beer by Willem Willemsz. van der Vliet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 162,500.00 (€ 178,414.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Willemsz. van der Vliet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Scholar In His Study With Figures With Masks, Possibly An Allegory in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 2,994,500.00 (€ 2,183,375.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Merry drinker with a large jug and a glass of beer von Willem Willemsz. van der Vliet zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 162.500,00 (€ 178.414,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Willemsz. van der Vliet erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Scholar In His Study With Figures With Masks, Possibly An Allegory im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.994.500,00 (€ 2.183.375,87).
