Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Flute-Player and a Man with a Swan (Holl. 18) by Willem Pietersz. Buytewech was sold in the Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in July 2011. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,000.00 (€ 6,885.90), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Pietersz. Buytewech achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A fish market in a Dutch town, with a bridge and houses in the background in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 468,000.00 (€ 544,565.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A Flute-Player and a Man with a Swan (Holl. Buytewech erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A fish market in a Dutch town, with a bridge and houses in the background im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 468.000,00 (€ 544.565,98).
