The work Pietà by Willem Key was sold in the Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2020. It achieved a price of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,251.27), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 63%. Admittedly, works by Willem Key have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Jerome in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 385,600.00 (€ 312,252.00).

Die Arbeit Pietà von Willem Key wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Old Master Day Sale including Old Master Paintings, Drawings and British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.251,27) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 63%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Willem Key auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint Jerome im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 385.600,00 (€ 312.252,00).
