Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work Sailboats at sunset by Willem Johannes Schütz for USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,542.51). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Willem Johannes Schütz have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2009 by the work Dutch Beached Vessels at EUR 5,000.00.
