In the Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale auction, the work Self Portrait As A Young Man, Head And Shoulders sold for USD 298,000.00 (€ 275,110.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Drost achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flora in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,625,000.00 (€ 4,284,787.85).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem Drost erzielte im Januar 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Master Paintings & Sculpture Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Self Portrait As A Young Man, Head And Shoulders für USD 298.000,00 (€ 275.110,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Drost erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flora im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.625.000,00 (€ 4.284.787,85).
