In July 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Tending to the rigging in an extensive riverlandscape by Willem Anthonie van Deventer. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,987.50 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Anthonie van Deventer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping on a calm estuary in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 42,300.00 (€ 72,415.89).

Im Juli 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tending to the rigging in an extensive riverlandscape von Willem Anthonie van Deventer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.987,50 und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Willem Anthonie van Deventer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping on a calm estuary im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 42.300,00 (€ 72.415,89).
