Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work German Many Figures In A Wintry Village by Wilhelm Velten was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in April 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by Wilhelm Velten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Riding Out ; And Before The Hunt in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 17,925.00 (€ 26,114.46).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit German Many Figures In A Wintry Village von Wilhelm Velten im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.500,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilhelm Velten auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Riding Out ; And Before The Hunt im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.925,00 (€ 26.114,46).
