Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Willem Frederik van Royen could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work A fanciful bird in a landscape changed hands for USD 776.75 (€ 786.10) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Willem Frederik van Royen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Des Pêches, des cerises, du raisin et un verre sur un entablement drapé in June 2003 with an auction result of EUR 16,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Willem Frederik van Royen konnte im Oktober 2002 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wechselte die Arbeit A fanciful bird in a landscape für USD 776,75 (€ 786,10) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00.
