In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work Lost in Thought by Wilhelm Amberg. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,279.24), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wilhelm Amberg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Girl In A Blue Sash, which sold at auction in January 2010 for USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,277.58).

Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lost in Thought von Wilhelm Amberg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.290,00 (€ 5.279,24) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Amberg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Girl In A Blue Sash beobachtet, die im Januar 2010 für USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.277,58) versteigert wurde.
