Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Islands in the Clouds 25 x 35 in. (63.5 x 89 cm.) by Werner Drewes was worth USD 38,175.00 (€ 35,574.50) to a buyer in May last year. This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Werner Drewes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Expectation of New Events, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 75,975.00 (€ 73,597.79).

Die Arbeit Islands in the Clouds 25 x 35 in. (63.5 x 89 cm.) von Werner Drewes war einem Käufer im Mai letzten Jahres USD 38.175,00 (€ 35.574,50) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 um ein Vielfaches.
