In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work The Red Cliff, With Calligraphy Of "Ode To The Red Cliff" In Running Script sold for USD 1,095,000.00 (€ 888,798.70) - well above the upper estimate of USD 580,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
