Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Seven-Character Poem in Running Script by Wen Zhengming. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 504,000.00 (€ 60,397.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-Character Poem in Running Script von Wen Zhengming zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 504.000,00 (€ 60.397,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
