The work Preface To The Gathering In The Western Pavilion In Standard Script Calligraphy by Wen Zhengming was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in July 2003. It achieved a price of HKD 31,070.00 (€ 3,235.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).

Die Arbeit Preface To The Gathering In The Western Pavilion In Standard Script Calligraphy von Wen Zhengming kam im Juli 2003 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 31.070,00 (€ 3.235,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
