Inscribed and signed, with five seals of the artist
Dated twenty-fourth day, third month, xuwu year (1558)
Seventeen collector’s seals on the mounting, including one of Chen Zishan (18th Century)
Colophons by Chen Zishan, with one seal, and Imaseki Tempo (1882-1970)

Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in Paris held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Poems in Running-Cursive Script by Wen Zhengming. The price achieved of HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 294,461.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poems in Running-Cursive Script von Wen Zhengming zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 294.461,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
