In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy by Wen Zhengming. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 937,500.00 (€ 107,049.88), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 56 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy von Wen Zhengming zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 937.500,00 (€ 107.049,88) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
