This artwork by Wen Zhengming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy in Running Script sold for HKD 1,008,000.00 (€ 120,794.17) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wen Zhengming achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems In Large Running Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 83,227,500.00 (€ 9,525,364.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wen Zhengming erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy in Running Script für HKD 1.008.000,00 (€ 120.794,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 400.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wen Zhengming erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems In Large Running Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 83.227.500,00 (€ 9.525.364,61).
