Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Coney Island by Weegee. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 22,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 24,130.00 (€ 28,075.42). Other works by Weegee have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 62,500.00 (€ 56,028.69) in October 2019 for the work Weegee Portfolio.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Coney Island von Weegee zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 22.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 24.130,00 (€ 28.075,42) einen neuen Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Weegee haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 56.028,69) im Oktober 2019 für die Arbeit Weegee Portfolio beobachtet.
