In March 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Hearst Sees Red by Warren Wheelock. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,165.61), 38% above the upper estimate. Other works by Warren Wheelock have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,948.74) in March 2021 for the work New York Mayor Fiorello La Guardia.
