Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Shou Character in One Hundred Scripts by Wang Xun for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,475.47). This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 50,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Xun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Running Script Calligraphy, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,194.09).
