Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Xuetao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in December last year. In the Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings auction, the work Pomegranates and Blue Magpie sold for HKD 882,000.00 (€ 105,694.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Xuetao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flowers, which sold at auction in May 2016 for HKD 3,186,000.00 (€ 368,242.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Xuetao erzielte im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings wurde die Arbeit Pomegranates and Blue Magpie für HKD 882.000,00 (€ 105.694,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Xuetao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flowers beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für HKD 3.186.000,00 (€ 368.242,66) versteigert wurde.
