In December this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection, which included the work Bird and Lotus by Wang Xuetao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 81,900.00 (€ 9,476.77), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Xuetao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 3,186,000.00 (€ 368,242.66).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 64 % übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bird and Lotus von Wang Xuetao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 81.900,00 (€ 9.476,77) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Xuetao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.186.000,00 (€ 368.242,66).
