This artwork by Wang Xiangming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2009. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Salute to the Masters - Freud Never Changes sold for HKD 475,000.00 (€ 40,866.35) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 260,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wang Xiangming; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of HKD 631,500.00 (€ 56,305.99).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Xiangming erzielte im November 2009 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit Salute to the Masters - Freud Never Changes für HKD 475.000,00 (€ 40.866,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 260.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wang Xiangming; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Oktober 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 631.500,00 (€ 56.305,99).
