Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2000 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction THE FUSHOUTANG COLLECTION - IMPORTANT CHINESE PAINTINGS, which included the work Correspondence In Running Script Calligraphy by Wang Shouren. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 235,000.00 (€ 35,502.00), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Shouren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Letter To The Family in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,925,000.00 (€ 1,502,028.71).
