In May 2021 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Landscapes After Ancient Masters by Wang Hui. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 2,750,000.00 (€ 290,696.24), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Hui achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Endless Streams and Mountains in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 28,925,000.00 (€ 3,169,122.64).
