The work Six Tables by Wang Huaiqing was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2016. It achieved a price of HKD 9,440,000.00 (€ 1,110,892.17), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by Wang Huaiqing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Traces Of Nature – 4 (Triptych) (Painted In 2004) in April this year with an auction result of HKD 8,925,000.00 (€ 9,114,171.20).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Six Tables von Wang Huaiqing wurde im Oktober 2016 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Asian Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 9.440.000,00 (€ 1.110.892,17) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Huaiqing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Traces Of Nature – 4 (Triptych) (Painted In 2004) im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 8.925.000,00 (€ 9.114.171,20).
