Inscribed and signed, with three seals of the artist Dated summer, bingzi year (1936) Dedicated to Xiufeng 2. WANG FU'AN (1880-1960) Calligraphy in Seal Script Fan leaf, ink on paper 18 x 51 cm. (7 1 ⁄ 8 x 20 1 ⁄ 8 in.) Inscribed and signed, with one seal of the artist Dated summer, sixth month, guiyou year (1933) NOTE: He Xiufeng (1898-1970), born in Zhongshan, Guangdong, was the father of Ho Mang Hang, and a famous seal carver and collector. He worked under Wang Jingwei and helped published Poetry of Shuangzhaolou .
Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Wang Fu'An achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May last year. In the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy sold for HKD 50,400.00 (€ 5,983.56) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Fu'An achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 812,500.00 (€ 91,540.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Fu'An erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy für HKD 50.400,00 (€ 5.983,56) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 25.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Fu'An erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 812.500,00 (€ 91.540,29).
