Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Chew Family Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy In Running Script by Wang Fangyu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,125.00 (€ 1,724.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Fangyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cold Mountain, which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,400.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Chew Family Collection of Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Wang Fangyu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.125,00 (€ 1.724,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Fangyu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cold Mountain beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.400,41) versteigert wurde.
