Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Old Bedford by Walter Richard Sickert was sold in the Modern British Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June last year. The price achieved of GBP 88,200.00 (€ 102,463.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Richard Sickert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work L' Eldorado, which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 245,000.00 (€ 289,075.91).

Die Arbeit The Old Bedford von Walter Richard Sickert wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 88.200,00 (€ 102.463,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 70.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Richard Sickert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit L' Eldorado beobachtet, die im November 2016 für GBP 245.000,00 (€ 289.075,91) versteigert wurde.
