Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Over the Footlights (The Lloyd Sisters) 50.8 x 60.5 cm. (20 x 23 2/3 in.) by Walter Richard Sickert was sold in the Modern British and Irish Art auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 50,700.00 (€ 58,749.72). Admittedly, works by Walter Richard Sickert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work L' Eldorado in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 289,075.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Over the Footlights (The Lloyd Sisters) 50.8 x 60.5 cm. (20 x 23 2/3 in.) von Walter Richard Sickert wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 50.700,00 (€ 58.749,72) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Richard Sickert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit L' Eldorado im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 245.000,00 (€ 289.075,91).
