Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Phantasie, Um 1931 by Walter Kurt Wiemken was auctioned at Christies in Geneva in June 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CHF 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of CHF 4,112.50 (€ 2,700.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Kurt Wiemken achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Suite The Suite in May 2008 with an auction result of CHF 49,000.00 (€ 30,203.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Phantasie, Um 1931 von Walter Kurt Wiemken kam im Juni 2001 bei Christies in Genf zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CHF 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CHF 4.112,50 (€ 2.700,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Kurt Wiemken erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Suite The Suite im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 49.000,00 (€ 30.203,02).
