Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Newlyn Harbour by Walter Joseph Phillips. The price achieved of CAD 4,800.00 (€ 3,681.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Walter Joseph Phillips have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mamalilicoola, British Columbia in November this year with an auction result of USD 16,380.00 (€ 15,016.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Newlyn Harbour von Walter Joseph Phillips zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 4.800,00 (€ 3.681,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Joseph Phillips auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mamalilicoola, British Columbia im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 15.016,50).
