Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction Twentieth Century British Art, which included the work Dorset Landscape by Walter James Steggles. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,061.78), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Walter James Steggles have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Canal, Mile End in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,999.04).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Twentieth Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dorset Landscape von Walter James Steggles zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 720,00 (€ 1.061,78) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter James Steggles auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Canal, Mile End im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 5.999,04).
