Auction result well in line with expectations

In August 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Athlete: Photographs by Walter Iooss, Jr., which included the work "The Athlete" and M.J., 2005 by Walter Iooss Jr.. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,472.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Iooss Jr. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dwight Clark, “The Catch”, San Francisco, CA, 1982, which sold at auction in August 2020 for USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,417.56).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im August 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Athlete: Photographs by Walter Iooss, Jr. durch, in der auch die Arbeit "The Athlete" and M.J., 2005 von Walter Iooss Jr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.472,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Iooss Jr. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dwight Clark, “The Catch”, San Francisco, CA, 1982 beobachtet, die im August 2020 für USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.417,56) versteigert wurde.
