Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Michael Jordan, Atlanta, GA, 1998 by Walter Iooss Jr. was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,750.00 (€ 2,303.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Iooss Jr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dwight Clark, “The Catch”, San Francisco, CA, 1982 in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,417.56).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Michael Jordan, Atlanta, GA, 1998 von Walter Iooss Jr. kam im August 2020 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.750,00 (€ 2.303,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Iooss Jr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dwight Clark, “The Catch”, San Francisco, CA, 1982 im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.417,56).
