Auction result well in line with expectations

In August 2020 Christies in New York held the auction The Athlete: Photographs by Walter Iooss, Jr., which included the work Kobe Bryant, Santa Monica, CA, 1997 by Walter Iooss Jr.. The price achieved of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,513.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Iooss Jr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Dwight Clark, “The Catch”, San Francisco, CA, 1982 in August 2020 with an auction result of USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,417.56).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Im August 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The Athlete: Photographs by Walter Iooss, Jr. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kobe Bryant, Santa Monica, CA, 1997 von Walter Iooss Jr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.513,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Iooss Jr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Dwight Clark, “The Catch”, San Francisco, CA, 1982 im August 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.417,56).
